Name: Con
Genre: dystopian, romance
Setting: futuristic world in a Victorian setting
Plot: Gillian Mour is a girl of rich opportunity. She's the second daughter of wealthy business owner Peter Mour and Lady Charlotte Mour. Her life is seemingly perfect, aside from her mother and father trying to marry her off, with all the best intentions in mind.
While attending an opera with one of the many suitors placed before her, Gillian meets a rich, young European boy named Willem Conrad. It's love at first sight for Gillian, and she hopes Willem feels the same way. After the opera, their paths seem to be completely aligned with each other, as she sees him everywhere. Willem apparently gets along with Peter Mour, and that surprises Gillian. Her father isn't very fond of Europeans, despite the fact that he visits the country regularly on business.
Things are going very well for Gillian Mour. Her family's annual summer ball is arriving, and Willem is attending.
But that's when things get bad. First, Gillian's best friend, Holden Ethans, tells her something completely unexpected.
Second, Willem Conrad disappears.
Who is this European boy, really? And what is he hiding? As Gillian tries to figure out who, and what, is is she's fallen in love with, she comes to find out something about her own family. There are secrets in every corner of her home; they weren't meant to be found out, but the light is shedding on them faster than her mother and father can shield them again.
They're the kind of secrets that will destroy the Mour household from the ground up. In the end, there's only one thing Gillian doesn't know about her mother and father: Everything.
