National Novel Writing Month

FIRST POST! It'll probably be terrible, but please bear with me. *smiles sweetly*

As all you writing-geeks out there know, next month is National Novel Writing Month. You can call it that, NaNoWriMo, NaNo, or you can just call it what it is: total literary and life abandonment.
I've only done NaNo once, in 2009. My novel was called "Wolf & Lamb", and, much to my surprise and thrill, I actually finished the word quota. 50,000 words in a single month. However *ahem*, I haven't completed the novel itself, and most likely never will. Terrible of me, yes, but I have better story ideas to deal with. Less cliche, better writing... and just more funner.
This year I have a ton of NaNo possibilities. Since it's like the 20th of October, and November is in like around a week... I need to decide which idea I want to go with.
Yeah, I actually have no idea what I'm going to do. Probably something completely random and off the top of my head. Not the best idea in the world, since starting from scratch like that is pretty hard when trying to complete a quota like 50,000 words, but it'll be an interesting adventure. And anyway, it's not like I haven't done something like that before. *smiles*
At first I thought I was going to write a story idea called "Cal Vallen" for my 2011 NaNo, but I don't really feel like doing a fantasy at the moment. All the same, though, I'm still going to keep the idea in mind. Assassins, war, a group called Brethren... assassins. What could possibly be wrong with assassins? Yeah, I kinda adore them.
Then I thought I could just write my main-novel in writing, "Cityscape". But then the computer I've been writing it on decided to be difficult. Don't know what's wrong with it, just that no one can log onto it. That wouldn't be such a big problem if I put the chapter index onto another computer as well. Seeing as I didn't *glares irritatingly at herself*, I Can't Write It. I could just make something up, but... Naw. Couldn't. The story revolves too much around my index for me to stray from it. I've cursed myself over and over again for not saving it or copying it down somewhere else. But anyway, enough of that rant. (I'm prone to ranting and dragging out things, by the way)
Could write "Forever". Could write "The Rain that Falls". Could write the continuation to "I Promise". Could do a lot of things. Writing stories about race horses are easy enough.
Whatever I write about, I Have To Figure It Out SOON.
Most likely, though, I'll pick out my NaNo novel on November 1st.
With my job at the horse stable, I have little time to write, or even read. (So how did I find time to write this post, do you ask? *smiles*) This year's NaNo will be time demanding, yes, but I will finish it. To be sure.
   Wish me luck! (and pray...)

STAY TUNED!
